Statement of Experience
About
I spend my time inside the parts of treasury and payments that most people only see the output of — cash concentration structures, correspondent banking relationships, entity footprints that grew faster than anyone planned for.
That vantage point is unusual. Most treasury expertise is earned slowly, one institution at a time. Mine came from sitting inside enough live, high-stakes decisions — for banks and for the corporates they serve — to compress that timeline considerably. Colleagues who've worked with me tend to describe the depth as belonging to someone twenty or thirty years further into their career.
Abel Consulting Group exists to put that vantage point to work for people who need a second, sharper set of eyes on a treasury or payments question — before the decision gets made, not after.
Statement of Independence
How I work
I take no kickback, referral fee, or preferred-partner arrangement from any bank or payment provider — full stop. Every recommendation I make is based on what's right for your situation, not on which relationship pays me.
What I don't take
- Referral fees from banks
- Kickbacks from payment providers
- Preferred-partner arrangements
What that buys you
- Advice with nothing riding on which vendor you pick
- A read you can actually act on
- No hidden math behind the recommendation
I do maintain a growing network of payment and banking professionals — built through direct relationships, not referral agreements. If a connection in that network is useful to you, I'll make it. It doesn't change what I'm paid, or by whom.

Available Upon Request
For work that calls for deeper analysis, implementation support, deliverables, or ongoing advisory services, I'll define the scope, timing, and terms before work begins. Advisory fees are for time and expertise, not outcomes or vendor selection, which keeps the incentives clean.
